Commentary: Blowing vuvuzela on noisy double standard in tennis

On serve and when whipping his forehand, Novak Djokovic grunts like a bullfrog, WooooAH-UH.

Rafael Nadal goes for a throatier, AAArrgggHH. Occasionally, Andy Murray offers a more hushed, constricted, Eeeeeehhh. From Roger Federer, of course, we get the sound of silence.

Yet here is a selection of headlines youll never read about tennis top men: Earplugs ready, its the scream queen final, Shrieks of nature, or Its squeally not on.

Those headlines arent made up. Oh-so-witty, that is all stuff written about Victoria Azarenka and Maria Sharapova before their womens final at the Australian Open on Saturday.

Anyone else spot the sexist double-standards here?...

The masks are designed to be used for any canine, or animal that has been rescued from structure fires, drowning, or other emergency in which they may need oxygen in order to breathe again.

Are Mutts Smarter Than Purebred Dogs?

Among the biggest victims of the economic recession are the once
beloved family pets surrendered to shelters as their owners deal
with extended joblessness. The US Humane Society estimates 6 to 8

We dont have firm numbers but we know anecdotally that the
communities that have been hardest hit by the economic downturn are
seeing that reflected in their shelter intake numbers, says Inga
Fricke, director of sheltering issues for the US Humane
Society.

And, unfortunately, while the majority of the public is in
favor of adopting pets from shelters, very few –...
